Just when we thought we’d found every possible use for CBD, we discovered that CBD lube is a thing. However, may people still aren’t really sure what it is, or how to use it. CBD is short for cannabidiol. It is a non-addictive, safe compound found in the cannabis (or hemp) plant. It is a naturally occurring substance but unlike THC (tetrahydrocannabinol), it is not psychoactive. That means you will reap the benefits of cannabis, without the high.

CBD is believed to help reduce inflammation. Other possible benefits of using a CBD lube are a reduction in vaginal pain, relaxed muscles, and increased blood flow, all of which could contribute to reduced anxiety. It can lead to increased sensitivity for some. Because CBD oil is produced from hemp you do not have to worry with legality issues. Thanks to the 2018 Hemp Farming Act CBD oil is legal nationwide.
How to use CBD Lube
Start with a small dose of lube and apply it as you would any other personal lubricant. It takes about 30 seconds to one minute before you feel a warming effect. if you’re not feeling anything after 1-2 minutes, you can gradually increase usage. You won’t get high and while you can’t OD, everybody processes CBD differently, if there is no sensation or the sensation is to intense you may want to consider a traditional lube. There is no warming agent in CBD lube, the sensation is caused by an increase in blood flow and a reduction of inflammation.
Is it Safe
CBD is commonly added to water-based lubricants, so if you have purchased a brand that is water based it is compatible with latex and other condom materials. However, not many studies have been done of its interaction with hormonal contraceptives. If you or your partner are taking medications, or are pregnant, consult with your doctor before using CBD lube.
If you have any sort of negative reaction, discontinue use immediately. You might also want to wash or rinse the affected area to ensure there is no residual product remaining.
