When you think of higher education chances are you picture students taking courses on subjects like Computer Science, Economics, and Psychology. While these are popular options there are also some less known classes, workshops and clubs like Harvard’s “If I Have Sex Will I Get Pregnant and Die?” Princeton University’s BDSM Club, and Yale’s “Sex Week”. So if you are considering going back to school perhaps these classes should be something you put on your comparison lists before sending in your application.

Harvard University

This Ivy League school participates in sex week, which is considered a week of “thought-provoking, scholastic, innovative and applicable to student experiences in order to promote a holistic understanding of sex and sexuality.” The week offers students a chance to take classes like “What What in the Butt: Anal Sex 101,” “Unleashed: Kink 101,” and “Sticky: A (Self) Love Story” just to name a few. The school even incorporated some hands on learning experiences passing around toys such as a butt plugs for educational purposes.

Princeton University

Students matriculating at Princeton can look forward to a club specifically for students who seek to explore the BDSM scene: “Princeton Plays”. Princeton is actually not alone in officially recognizing a club like this one. Harvard has “Munch,” Columbia has “Conversio Virium,” and Cornell has “Crunch.” The club covers topics like rope play, sensory deprivation, floggings, and role play. Princeton Plays, aims to “provide a safe space for students interested in non-traditional relationships” and “to promote values of sexual inclusivity and affirm that all types of safe and consensual activity between individuals is valid.”

Yale

Yale likes to do things “a little risqué and a little different that other sex education programs,” said Dain Lewis previous director of Yale’s Sex week. Their program has included everything from a sex therapist and a discussion of homosexuality with a former Roman Catholic priest. To more provocative sessions including a panel of porn stars and stripping lessons from a Playboy Channel hostess.
