It’s pride month! If you’re out and about at the block parties and street parades you are sure to run into your fair share of lesbians. So in honor of Pride month and all the lovely ladies out there, here are some slang terms you may hear from the sexy queers out celebrating their right to love whoever makes them happy. Trust us not knowing these terms could make for some awkward conversational moments.
BAMBI-SEXUALITY: Physical interaction centered more about touching, kissing, and caressing than around genital sexuality. Not to be confused with bestiality, a very different concept.
CELEBUDYKE: A lesbian who is famous or near-famous for doing almost nothing. Ingrid Casares, who is known primarily because she has dated her way through the lesbian elite, is a prime example. On a local level can refer to a dyke on the scene, whether activist or club hopper, who everybody knows.
DYKE TYKE: The opposite of a “Fag hag.” Men, sometimes gay, sometimes straight, who perpetually hang out with lesbian friends, and aspire to lesbianism as a higher consciousness.”
FRIG: In lesbian sex, to finger fuck or stroke a woman’s genitals.
GIRL SCOUT: A military man on leave, currently seeking sex
MUFFER: A woman who muffs / muff-dives.
TINKERBELL: A queer man who enjoys being urinated upon.
Also if you are trying to learn the lingo so you can join in conversations you should avoid the following terms. Beanflicker, carpet muncher, muff diver, anal assassin, butt pirate, fudge packer, and sausage jockey. While you may hear them used occasionally most LGBTQ+ people find terms like these derogatory, especially if they are coming from a straight person. Your best bet is to just identify them as people and not try to categorize them by their sexuality.
