Back in 2006, a lot of people took notice of spray on condoms. However, the product failed to really catch on as a bedside must-have, since it took what seemed like forever to dry. A student from Pratt Institute in New York never forgot the idea and is attempting to revamp it. Michele Chu one day hopes to include the spray on condom in part of her lovers kit Girlplay, which contains sexcessories “aimed at bold and daring women.” The center piece of her kit is the remote controlled spray on condom.
In theory, you would use the remote control to choose the various effects, modes, and flavors of the latex, then spray it onto either the penis or vagina, and then wait 2 minutes for it to dry. Two minutes…I don’t know about you but that is just too long for me to wait if this product is supposed to be superior to traditional condoms.
If you are bold and daring enough to trust some aerosol latex to protect you from STDs and unplanned kids, then while you wait for the latex to dry you can use the same remote to remove the smart bra. The bra included in the kit is supposed to unhook with just the push of a button. Then I guess you can spend the rest of the time flipping through all the options available on the remote.

There are a lot of questions left unanswered in Chu’s product pitch, even though she is hoping to have the lovers kit available on the market in the next year. Her pitch is centrally focused on speed and ease of use: “We create revolutionary spray-on condoms that are perfect for today’s fast-paced environment. Girlplay helps fit both work and play into your schedule, in style.”
