You read that right, we know its Saturday not Sunday, don’t worry we aren’t taking you to church. This week’s strange sex Saturday is all about how people are incorporating their spirituality into their sexuality!
Meditation
Research finds that a mindfulness practice can help boost your sex drive and make you more receptive to having sex. Buddhism teaches a concept called ‘shoshin,’ or ‘beginner’s mind,’ which propounds maintaining a fresh attitude towards all subjects, much like a beginner would, this can be especially helpful for those in long term relationships. This outlook can help keep sex new and exciting. Being present and mindful is one of the foundational keys to good sex. Sexual meditation can be performed solo or with a partner and with a guide or without one.
Sacred Sex
If meditation isn’t enough to tilt your strange sex meter don’t worry we aren’t done. Some people are practicing Sacred Sex Magic. That’s right, if you’ve got a witchy partner its entirely possible that they may be adding in a dash of actual magic to your sex sessions. To preform sacred sex rituals, sex starts before the bedroom. After taking a cleansing bath or shower partners will adorn themselves or their partners with sacred oils. The magic happens during climax. Partners spend their time during sex building on the intention they have set, then during the moment of climax they release their sexual spell work into the universe on the waves of their pleasure.
Open yourself up to exploring sexual intimacy however you feel moved to do so. Let every session be unique and distinct unto itself. Remember, being fully in the moment during sex means having a total awareness of our being right now. We will see you next week while we explore more of the “stranger” sides of sex and sexuality.
