First there was waxing, then vajazzleing, then women started steaming their lady bits. Not to mention all the things in-between, but now there is a brand new trend. Women everywhere are applying sheet masks to not only their breasts but also their vulvas. You read that right, the masks they put on their faces, are also now being used to get their vajayjays date night ready. We have the what, why, and how on masking your vagina.
What?

Sheet masks are the thin pieces of cloth that usually come presoaked in a chemical combination. They typically run about .99 cents and come in a number of varieties. These are NOT the peal masks. Please do not apply a mask designed to dry and then be peeled off to your vulva. The masks designed to hydrate, moisturize, and soothe are ideal for this trend. You will want to avoid ones that are made to brighten, or for anti-aging. These can contain harsh chemicals like salicylic acid, glycolic acid, etinol, retinal, tretinoin, isotretinoin, and alitretinoin as these can cause some serious irritation.
Why?

If you, like us, are wondering why on earth anyone would apply a face mask to their cave of wonders the answer is simpler than expected. Applying a sheet mask after your grooming routine can prevent irritation caused by shaving or waxing.
How?

If the traditional methods of moisturizing and soothing your vulva just aren’t cutting it and you want to try this new trend for yourself grab your mask and get ready. All you need to do is open it, unfold it and apply it. Above all make sure to only apply the mask to your vulva. Getting any of the mask onto the skin inside can disrupt the delicate Ph balance causing infection or worse irritation than a little razor burn. Considering that yeast infections are not at all fun, you should take care to avoid them.
