Were' back on the train but it's slow going because they're clearing the track ahead of us. Because the track is rough, they're asking people not to try to move between cars. We offer to stay in our car but with it detached they said it was too dangerous, it simply wouldn't hold enough wood to keep us from freezing and we wouldn't have access to the train. The decide to put us in the conductor's quarters that's been recreated inside the museum. Nearly every piece in the display is authentic. including the small fireplace. We realize that the bed is over 100 years old and might not survive a night with us so we take the feather mattress off, which is brand new, and push it next to the fire. We then spend the night keeping each other warm.
